Cold Chain Monitoring

HOME/Cold Chain Monitoring

CHALLENGES:

  • Blood for transfusion needs to be transported under controlled and highly reliable conditions.
  • The temperature of whole blood and red cell components must be kept at +2 °C to +10 °C during transport.
  • If blood is stored or transported outside of these temperatures for a long, it loses its ability to transport oxygen or carbon dioxide to and from tissues upon transfusion.
  • Other factors of serious concern are the risk of bacterial contamination if blood is exposed to warm temperatures.
  • To maintain the quality of blood specially designed blood transport boxes are used to ensure that they can reliably maintain temperatures at +2 °C to +10 °C for the planned journey, using appropriate coolants or ice packs.

CLIENT BENEFITS:

  • Our solution was designed to help track the blood sample bag and monitor the temperature to emphasize the blood quality and travelling time.
  • This was done using a very Low power consumption device that can sustain for the required duration using a single battery which no data loss while traveling or no network on the device.

PROBLEM STATEMENT:

  • Develop a system that can measure the temperature of
the portable pathological bag and share its details over a
web application through the mobile application.

PRODUCT FEATURES DEVELOPED BY ACCLIVIS:

  • To meet these challenges, we designed a system to monitor the temperature in an insulated container or bag.
  • The temperature details are logged and periodically sent to the cloud through mobile. The system sends alerts in case of temperature variance beyond set limits.
  • The container “location tracker” helps to determine the current location on the map to guide the transportation up to the destination.
  • User-friendly UI on web and mobile applications for ease of operation to end users.
